Opening wool
Now it’s time to take the wool to the opener. This machine works to release the fibers, freeing them from one another. As the wool enters the machine, it undergoes a process that helps to loosen and separate the fibers. Once processed, the wool exits into our blower room.
The blower room is a key part of this step. Its design allows the fibers to remain open and airy, preventing them from being pressed down. This spacious area also lets us process large quantities of wool at once without the risk of jamming or tangling, ensuring the fibers stay free-flowing.
Opening the wool is an essential step in removing more dirt and undesirable particles while preparing the fibers for the next phase: carding. This careful preparation helps ensure the highest quality final product.
